A car that won't start in the morning or that leaves you stranded can really ruin your day. One common source of these problems may be a faulty ignition. Many of our Raymond Kia customers don't know the symptoms of ignition problems, so we've put together this list of signs to indicate you may need ignition service.

You could see a "check engine" light indicating a bad ignition coil. Checking your engine with a diagnostic scanner would likely show an ignition or engine misfire code. If your engine coil is the problem, misfiring would occur. You would hear a sputtering or feel a pull when driving at normal speeds.

A hard start may mean your ignition coil isn't sending enough voltage to the spark plug. This is most common in vehicles with a single ignition coil. Stalling could mean an issue with the ignition switch. This is also the culprit if your key won't turn.
